Hello everybody!

My name is Maarten and I live in Holland. A couple of months ago I thought it was time for a new camera. I have a compact camera for the casual point and shoot situations, but I wanted more out of a camera!

And so the search began....choices, choices, choices! Would it be a hybrid/superzoom, or a DSLR? New or second hand? What brand? After a lot of research and advise, (not in the least by this great site) I went for a nearly new second hand Canon 400D and I am very happy with it so far!

I used an old analog SLR in the old days (which I still own), but I am still a novice and learning with every click! So tips and/or comments about anything is most welcome!

Thanks guys!

If everything goes as planned, this time tomorrow I can cross one item off my wishlist! I will be the proud owner of the Canon 18-200mm IS lens! :D
