Hi Folks

The name´s Des, from the UK but now living in Sweden (got lured over here by the wifey) I´m an Electrical Engineer by trade, and ex club/radio DJ. However, i still like to dabble with the deckz, but my main passion taking up most of my valuable time is carping.

Just picked up a Canon SX10 IS the other day, and found my way over here whilst looking for some tutorials/reviews. First off, i´m a total noob ... you know the ones that point & shoot  So bare with me, i´m in deep water here just managing to stay afloat :? I need to learn how to take some awesome capture shots & some landscape shots.

Glad to be here btw ...

Welcome Des :P

the SX3IS was my first semi serious step into photography which served me well for 2 years.. I still have a SX10IS as a backup. Hope you enjoy this site as well as your new toy.. any questions just ask.. there are many knowledgable ppl here who will guide you along...

Welcome to the forum Des!

Point-and-shoots are great. Unlike all those big black boxes with 2 million controls and customization options, P&S cameras allows your inner photographer to come out. The artistic, seeing person whose attention is directed at what's around you and the opportunities that comes with it.

Cheers :-)
