Hi Alll,
My name is Matt, but most people just call me Gunner. I just picked up a Nikon D3000 but it isn't my first D-SLR experience. I have been the family photographer for the past couple of years using my father's Canon Digital Rebel Xti. I take decent pictures, but I want to learn how to take great pictures.

Hello gunner, and welcome to the friendly Camera Labs forum!
Did you already have had a look at the house-rules?
Hope your learning curve is steep and you can quickly enjoy your new gear!

Thomas,
Thank you for the warm welcome, and yes I have already took a look at the house rules, and as far as my learning curve I am like a sponge and want to absorb as much useful information as quickly as possible.

Thank you Victor and Gordon for the warm welcome. And Gordon I will check out the Assignment section even though I'm not really sure what it is all about. Could I get some clarification on that please?

It's where we set a theme every month and you enter a photo based on that theme - although the picture needs to be taken during that month. Full rules and explanations in the Assignment section - and if you win, you get to choose the theme for next month!
