First of all, Let me say "great website". You are really allowing people to see what the different cameras and lenses can do in real life.
You are also showing us ( in the UK at least ) that we are actually very poorly served by our camera magazines.

Can I suggest a possible idea for a new topic of the forum, or a topic for a special article of yours ?

If Sony are serious about being no 1 in cameras within three years, it strikes me that they will go 'full-frame' . With that possibility in mind, many of your readers might appreciate an article which suggests which lenses to invest in. That is, those which are good with current APC-S sized sensors and can go full frame.

Hi Andy, welcome to Cameralabs!

That's a great idea for a feature and one we'll definitely look into.

Right now though, I'd be surprised if anyone else adopts full-frame in the near future.

I'm told it's technically very difficult to implement for the CCD technology used by pretty much everyone apart from Canon. Ultra wide lenses have also solved the problem of reduced field of view with smaller sensors, and they also don't suffer from light fall-off problems in the corners as much as full-frame. Smaller sensors are also much cheaper to make.

So the only unique benefits of full-frame are potentially lower noise at higher sensitivities and more room to breath for higher resolutions.

Who knows though? Maybe in five or ten years time we'll look back at this funny period where for a while most DSLRs had little sensors!

Hi there,

my personal opinion is, that the full size sensors are going to be extinct like the dinosaurs. If you look at the latest APS-C sensors, they and their processing are so good, that the industry will stay with them for a while.
So don't bother to look at lenses that also fit to standard sensors - you will never need this option.
